The Rector

The Revd. Canon Dr. Robert Olukayode Owolabi

The Revd. Canon Dr. Owolabi earned a Doctor of Psychology in Grief Counseling from Breyer State Theology University, Bradenton, FL, USA, as well as a Bachelor of Science Civil Engineering (BSCE) and Master of Engineering (M. Eng.) both from Howard University, Washington, DC, USA. He also earned a Certificate in Theological Education by Extension, Education for Ministry, from the School of Theology, The University of the South, Sewanee, Tennessee, USA, as well as a Certified Public Manager (CPM) certificate from the Metropolitan Washington Council of Governments (MWCOG) Institute for Regional Excellence / George Washington University, Washington, DC, USA. He has over four decades of engineering experience with service in various capacities, both in the public and private sectors. Prior to his call to ordained ministry, his Community and Church Involvement spanning over two decades include:
• Lay Preacher and Peoples Warden, All Saints Anglican Church, Hyattsville, MD, USA.
• Senior Warden, Episcopal Church of the Ascension, Gaithersburg, MD, USA.
• Lay Eucharistic Minister, Episcopal Diocese of Washington, USA,
• Chair, Diocesan Commission on Ministry, Episcopal Diocese of Washington
• Member, Executive Committee, Diocesan Council, Episcopal Diocese of Washington
• President and Chairman, Board of Trustees, The Ijebu Association of the USA, Washington, DC.
• Vice-Chairman, Alliance of Yoruba Organizations and Clubs, Washington, DC. He was ordained into the Holy Order of Deacons on December 10, 2017 and into the Holy Order of Priests on December 9, 2018.

Prior to becoming Rector of Anglican Church of the Messiah, he served as Curate, All Saints Anglican Church, Hyattsville, Maryland, USA.

People's Warden

Managing daily operations and maintaining office supplies and records

The Church Administrative Assistant coordinates the staff of the Church, providing work direction for the office support staff and receiving general jobs directly from the ministers. This person is also responsible to oversee congregational communications which include website content and social media.

Rector's Warden
- Dr. Oladipo Oyefusi

Oversees the organization and upkeep of the Library and offer media

Supervises all book processing, cataloging, and shelving of books. Purchases supplies and furnishings as needed and in accordance with the library budget. Repairs and mends damaged materials. Handles overdues by contacting the appropriate person.

IT Team

The ACOTM IT Team features upgrades, installations and utilization of equipment bought and donated to enhance the Church programs and services.
Our AV equipment are now in 3 categories:
1. Audio
2. Video
3. Projection
Furthermore, ACOTM presence in social media is currently well established on YouTube. Sunday services are live streamed every Sunday.
Maintaining and setting up of musical equipment’s for church services and other programs. • Recording messages of every service and special programs. • Shall see to the switching on/off of all IT Equipment for all services/programs. • Shall also see to the proper maintenance of the IT Equipment i.e. through regular servicing/repairs as when due. • Shall ensure that Qualitative Sound Production is achieved in all our Services/Programs.

• Maintain order during all Services/Programs by ensuring that noise and any other thing that can cause distractions are minimized or eliminated. • Give accurate headcount of those present in Services and Special Programs. • Ensure proper arrangement of chairs and other items that has to do with the Service. • Ensure that people are properly placed and seats are duly filled up in a systematic and decent fashion. • Ensure that there is a smooth inflow and outflow of people during the services/programs. • Ensure that people are properly handled, secured, and taken care of during Ministrations.
